Signs of the Times

No matter where we are or what we do, we are surrounded by change.  That is also true as God works and moves to transform a people, a city or a culture.  One of the beautiful signs of God’s blessing and work is the indigenous music that pours from the hearts of national believers.

Throughout Asia and around the world, new Chinese songs in all kinds of local languages and dialects are written by local believers and flowing from lips of Chinese everywhere.  We share the excitement to see God’s hand of blessing touch these lands through the sound of music, including beautiful Hokkien music.

Approximately 930 hymns written by a peasant girl named Xiao Min, who can’t even read music, have now traveled to faraway places telling of God’s love and power.  She shares:

When dawn arrives in China you can hear people praying.  They are rejoicing in the Great Love that unites all the people of the world.  These prayers soar over the highest mountains and melt the ice off the coldest hearts.  Thre is no more bondage.  There are no more wars.  Hearts receive blessings from above, and destinies are changed.  It is going to be an excellent year for the harvest.

Others such as Lee Gee Tiong, Kelvin Soh Say Min, or Streams of Praise Music ministries have also written and produced beautiful music.  Stay tuned because this is one area that will continue to change to bring praises to the Lord our God.  Take a moment to listen:  Jehovah’s Blessings Abound.
