The REAL Meaning

Have you been to Singapore lately and seen their newest Jewel Changi airport? Oh, let me tell you it is a JEWEL! Take a trip with us below and enjoy the fun and frenzy of this season.

One thing that we have noticed through the years is that CHRISTMAS is a popular merry time of the year. It’s also a time to make money, and consequently the stores light up at Christmas. The JEWEL is no exception and wow is it amazing. It is definitely something to see and experience.

f7cdd581524cd10fe456b87e3f57a861But we all know that just having fun and experiencing these kind of events doesn’t come close to the REAL meaning of Christmas, right?! Just like this new airport, decorations can be exquisite, but nothing compares to God coming to us in skin and living among us.

We are grateful even for the Christmas trappings and decorations, because they still point to Jesus. Pray that through every medium this Christmas and beyond, people will also hear the same message in Luke 2 proclaimed by the angels on the night that JESUS was born.

Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.

Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.

This Christmas as we enjoy the bright lights and festivities around us, we pray that everything will bring praise and point to our Lord Jesus Christ. We also pray that you and your family will have a blessed Christmas rooted in God’s gift to us . . . JESUS.

Christmas

Thursday night as we participated in Celebrate Recovery in our area of Dallas Fort Worth, we were very touched as Pastor John showed us what they and the Azle community are doing for families in their area.

Christmas! Giving! Sharing! Caring! Loving! Forgiving! Supporting! Partnering! Celebrating!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL

No Room

Most of us since childhood have heard the story of Jesus birth. We can probably tell it at the drop of a hat. It is such a dramatic story. I can just imagine how crowded the city was 1080-parading-in-the-streets-on-Yom-Yerushalayim-Jom_Jeruschalajim-600x450when Joseph and Mary entered Bethlehem for the census. They had family there. They knew people. What thoughts did people have about this couple since Mary was pregnant before their marriage. Life must have had some difficult and uncomfortable moments as they journeyed through this time.

None of us were there to experience all that was happening. We can’t fill in the details, but we know for sure that life was not easy. Mary was pregnant and making a long journey with no comfortable car. There were crowded conditions and we have no idea what other challenges they faced.

Birth-and-Miracles-06One thing I believe. Jesus did come to this earth. I am so grateful for his birth, his life and his death and resurrection. He means everything to me.

Just as this story shares, many people today have deep hurts or uncomfortable family situations. Life can be challenging. Most of us know the statement in scripture: “There was no room.” Well, I don’t have the details of that day, but one thing that I do know — f7cdd581524cd10fe456b87e3f57a861Today we have an opportunity to respond to Jesus when faced with the decision of accepting Jesus or not. Is there room for Jesus to stay and live with us?

Pray with us that all Hokkien people at this Christmas time have an opportunity to hear the Gospel and open that door to let Jesus into their hearts and lives. Many have never heard this Good News! In Hokkien churches the Christmas season is filled with all kinds of creative opportunities to share God’s love with families and communities.
