Taiwan – Floods Leave 7 Dead, Thousands Displaced

A low-pressure system brought torrential rain and flooding to parts of central and southern Taiwan from 23 to 26 August, 2018. Seven people have died as a result of the severe weather, including 3 people who died in the city of Kaohsiung when scaffolding fell from a building.

In the Need of Prayer

We have the privilege to report many things that are happening across East and SE Asia. Somethings are good news and others involve people in need.

prayerFirst of all, we want to thank you for your prayers for Mr. T in Taiwan. Many have prayed for him and his family following a liver cancer diagnosis, surgery and chemo treatment. We just received word that scans show no sign of tumors or cancer. Thank you so much for praying with us. We count on your prayers. We do need you. Please continue to pray for him and his family as he continues check-ups every three months.

Today we also received some sad news. God uses many different kinds of ministries to reach people, and one of those is sports. Sympathy-1We are very proud of soccer teams that reach into communities in SE Asia. Recently, one of these teams suffered a great loss. One of their star players, “L”,  was injured in a motorbike accident and passed away. He was just 19. Please pray for this family and team members. Pray that God will send comfort and through the testimony of his life bring more people to know our Lord.

Thank you for sticking with us through thick and thin.
