ISLAND MINISTRY

We are excited to see how God continues to work among the Hokkien people. Please join us in prayer for a Chinese mission team of 30 people that will be partnering in ministry 1on the island of PK in SE Asia on June 22. J, a Hokkien praise singer, is very active in evangelistic ministry and loves to bring people along side their team in ministry. Want to hear a little of her singing? Click HERE. We are very blessed in Hokkien ministry to not only have mission teams from the West, but to also have teams from all over Asia to GO and share God’s precious love. Check out the photos below to see a collage of past mission trips and a few pictures from the PK island.

As we travel to different churches and partner with them, they are also willing to partner with us in other areas. Here’s a blast from the past to let you see something of what happens during these banquets. Click HERE. God works in marvelous ways. What a blessing! Pray for the pastor and family from this SE Asian church as well as team members as they share on this fishing island. May the Lord bless this banquet time to do great and mighty things.

Pray also for the people on this island. pulau_ketam02The team will be ministering primarily in two Chinese languages, Hokkien and Teochew. May the Lord soften their hearts and help them discern TRUTH. Many philosophies and religions are seen on this island. Pray for the people to have the opportunity to know Jesus.

Thanks once again for joining us in prayer. We live in exciting days. Look forward to some photos from this weekend ministry opportunity in the days ahead.

GAME ON!

We made it. One week of VBS with great kids and committed church volunteers and staff. It takes a lot of planning, work and energy to have VBS, but the hours of love and the amount of teaching that takes place couldn’t be done in weeks and weeks of Sunday morning Bible study.

GAMEON

Our church is new and we are seeking to reach into our community and share Christ download (1)with the families living there. These are new communities that are popping up all around us. We also just received our building permit!!! So it really is GAME ON. We are excited. Please pray for us as we seek ways to connect and share God’s love in practical ways with the families around us. Robert and I had the privilege of sharing Bible stories and also a story each evening from Hokkien Harvest experiences during our VBS. What fun to let children know that God didn’t just change lives in the Bible! He is alive and transforming lives today!

Join us for a bit of the opening time for VBS parent’s night by clicking HERE . . . and don’t forget to join in the fun of throwing pies in the face of  Mr. Chris and Mrs. Betty. Just click HERE. A fun time was had by all . . . NOW for recovery. Thanks for cheering for us!

love ’em

We are CALLED to go, share and live our lives like Jesus . . . to FOLLOW HIM.

Follow me

So how do we share Christ with families who do not know Christ? How do we share the good news of Jesus Christ with people who have never heard about HIM?

We met the “T” family about 20 years ago – a dad, mom and three young children. Our church planting team had just started a church in the community, and we were very excited to make friends with this new family. The family had been through some rough times. 2018家庭禮拜_180602_0003

The dad often shares his testimony and isn’t afraid to talk about his “thug” background filled with all kinds of bad behavior. BUT Christ without a doubt has changed his life. However, during these early years, the mother left the family and went her own way leaving the dad to raise the children. It was at this point that the church really rallied around the family.

Mr. “T”‘s transformation was so dramatic that his elderly mother also came to Christ. She was devout in her local religion and had yearned to see her son change. It has been beautiful to see the joy in her life. So many in this family are now Christian. These three young children are now young adults and are all Christians. The oldest son has married and they recently gave birth to twins who were in crisis. Thank you so much for so many of you who have prayed.

Recently, the church had a plan to visit families during the Mother’s Day celebration. They also took the opportunity to visit with Grandmother “T”‘s and some of her family since she is now unable to get to church. There are still a few family members who are not yet Christians and struggle with some serious physical challenges.

Pray for this family. Continue to pray for the twins as they develop and hopefully will soon leave the hospital. Pray too for this new mother, Mr. “T”‘s daughter-in-law. She is a new believer, but her family does not know Christ. There is nothing like LOVE to change hearts, meet needs and share God’s love with those around us. We just have to LOVE ‘EM.
