A Good Start

Taiwanese has a good saying . . . “A good start is half the success.” Now, as I look at that statement, it brings to mind some recent happenings. It is wonderful to make great plans, but if we don’t put out any effort, there is no way we will be successful.

We are so proud of our partners throughout East and SE Asia as they made plans, put in a lot of work and completed their ministry. Now in some cases because of Covid19, some venues had to be canceled because certain areas are now considered to be in the RED ZONE. This is because the virus has continued to increase. So flexibility is so important in these crazy days that surround us.

One thing is for sure, our partners are not quitters. They have faith and work hard to meet needs. If challenges arise, they strive to seek ways to work around it. One of these challenges is with homeless people in SE Asia. There is no way in tough times for people to take homeless people into their houses. There are a lot of restrictions. However, we are so thankful for Destiny Home that focuses on the homeless. So helping to support Destiny Home is just one of many ways to reach out in SE Asia. Pray for their outreach. Pray for resources to be provided. Pray too for their faith to increase. And finally, pray specifically for the homeless people themselves to have an opportunity to know our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Wow! Christmas!

You know, when the shepherds and wisemen heard the great news that Jesus was born, they had to travel and put out some energy in order to worship King Jesus. Well, we just received word that partners from our newest church start also had to travel and make the effort to journey to a fishing island village, KS, in SE Asia. With tears in my eyes I share this report!

Tonight’s Christmas Celebration in KS . . . 30 plus adults and 20 plus children came. 3 people accepted Jesus. All praise and Glory to God!

I don’t need to add anything to that. It’s Christmas. We celebrate the coming of Jesus, and he always shows up. Thank you soooo much for your prayers and encouragement.

Have a blessed and Merry Christmas.

Christmas and a Baby

Christmas ALWAS brings to mind the Baby Jesus. However, for many of us there are other thoughts of babies and Christmas. Our first child, pushing the birth date by doctor’s calculations, was born a little over 2 hours in the early morning hours the day after Christmas. The only baby that was born in the hospital on Christmas day was a Jewish baby. What interesting happenings.

Well, today we have another baby in SE Asia that needs your prayers. Please pray with us for J and AC’s unborn baby. Our partners ask us to pray that God will help and protect their baby, ensure a smooth delivery and keep the mother and baby safe.

Join us in prayer as we present this family before the father.

A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Wow, it’s hard to believe that our Christmas celebration is just around the corner. Well, if you asked one hundred people how they celebrate Christmas, you would get lots of different answers, right?! But I think it’s always fun to get a bird’s eye view of what’s happening around the world.

At the Hok-Tek Baptist Church in Kaohsiung, Taiwan we are so excited to see them celebrating the Christmas season with these baptisms. Sometimes in our western communities, we see children who desire to accept Christ and are baptized because they have grown up in Christian homes. However, this is not really true of our church in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. They minister in a challenging community riddled with senior adult concerns, family dysfunction, addictions such as alcohol, drugs gambling, and pornography, as well as poverty and serious health issues. Tough for sure, but what an opportunity to serve in Jesus’ name. And it is HIS birthday celebration, right?! So these are definitely beautiful gifts to bring before our Lord.

These pictures really are worth a thousand words. In these pictures are people for whom we have prayed. These are answers to prayer and something awesome to celebrate. So we want to share this celebration with you. This is definitely something to be excited about.

Pray for the leaders of Hok-Tek Baptist Church as they love and disciple these new believers. Pray too for ministry in 2021 as they continue to reach out to more families in their community.

HAVE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Urgent Prayer

In this very challenging time we not only face Covid19 issues, but life goes on and many other struggles may lie in our path.

Today, please join us in prayer for an urgent prayer request. Please pray for the family of Pastor T (couple and five children) in SE Asia. They were in a car accident and everyone was injured. The pastor’s chest was severely injured. Two or three of the children needed surgery. Others were also injured and the car was destroyed. We have no other details at this time, but will keep you updated as we receive news.

Thank you for praying with us.
