Historically, many people think that INTERNATIONAL MISSIONS is a thrust from the western world that reaches out around the globe. HOWEVER, our world today is not the same as it was in the 1700 or 1800’s. The Bible from the beginning
has ALWAYS been a message for everyone — every race and every person and has spread around the world. You have probably heard me share something that I have borrowed . . . if you are not living on the edge, then you’re taking up too much room. Sharing the Gospel and Living on the Edge takes a lot of different forms and shapes, and churches from all all over the world are leading the way.
I thought it might be interesting for you to get a bird’s eye view of how God is working in a local church in Taiwan. These are our friends and they are aboriginal people from Taiwan and minister in both aboriginal dialects and Mandarin. They also throw in English here and there.
We had the privilege of attending the dedication of this new church facility AND also the ordination of their pastor. What a great time we had as we gathered together. There was such a crowd that a tent area was constructed to handle all the people.
This young family has teamed with local co-workers to reach into their community. The wife also journeyed through thyroid cancer and has a beautiful testimony of God’s healing grace in her life.
As we celebrated with them, we heard their choirs sing and the pastor’s family present special music. The choir closed with the “Hallelujah Chorus.” AMAZING and heavenly.
The name of the church is: ALL NATIONS GOSPEL BAPTIST CHURCH. In that beautiful event, we were surrounded by reminders of God’s Gospel call to us. The church background, name and everything about them speaks of MISSIONS. A Taiwan Aboriginal church has so many challenges. It isn’t easy for the people to leave traditional ways or even to follow a path that is different form today’s contemporary materialism. HOWEVER, the Gospel is powerful and we see it continue to make inroads in every people group and every continent. Nothing is too difficult for God.
We praise God for this new church, and ask you to join us in supporting them in prayer. Pray for God to bless them in every way. Pray for the people in their community to have open hearts to receive God’s TRUTH. Pray for more co-workers to continue ministering in this community and beyond.
We’re all on the same page: GO YE THEREFORE . . .
