New Ministry!

It would be wonderful if all of us could travel to Asia and see first hand what is happening among the Hokkien people. Unfortunately, that is impossible for most people, so we want to give you a virtual partnership tour as one of our Hokkien teams begins this new ministry in a fishing village.

When we prepare a meal, we may use frozen food that we quickly prepare OR we may make it from SCRATCH . . . that means we start from the very beginning with no ready made ingredients. WELL, this is our new ministry in this fishing village.

Pray for new contacts. Pray for open hearts for those who have not yet heard. Pray for our team as they have committed to having ministry twice a week in this new work area. Pray for a second church that has agreed to partner in loving these people. Pray that families in this area will come to know Christ as Lord and Savior.

We are EXCITED because in just a few weeks, Robert and I along with our Taiwan team will be on the ground with these people. Pray for us to have open eyes and hearts and follow God’s leading as we work together with these friends. Good Days Coming!

Hokkien Service!

It’s always exciting to hear more Good News. One of our churches, the Good News Community Church in SE Asia has added another Hokkien service to their Sunday worship celebrations. They now not only have a morning service but also an afternoon service that begins at 4:30.

Pray for church leaders and families in this setting to be led by God’s Spirit to connect with others in their community.

Pray for hearts to be open as invitations are made.

Pray for wisdom as leaders seek ways to connect with families and understand their needs.

Pray for more workers in this harvest field as they continue to reach out.

We are so proud of these partners who continue to not only reach out in their community but also make trips to begin churches in areas where none exist.

GOOD NEWS!

Daily we are bombarded with all kinds of information, but I think all of us are eager to hear GOOD NEWS. Well . . . recently, the HT Baptist Church in Kaohsiung, Taiwan celebrated BAPTISM. For anyone in Asia, BAPTISM is a public announcement that a person is making a commitment to follow JESUS. This is a REALLY big deal. We have seen person after person make this decision which has eventually led to entire families coming to Christ. For us, that is so exciting.

In this particular church, we have been very touched to see how God continues to work in the T family. Whether we are talking about children or adults, God has answered prayers in their lives.  Now the oldest son in the T family is engaged and they plan to be married next year. Recently, his fiance has joined the family and decided to follow Christ —– and about two weeks ago was baptized. This is a big step for her and a wonderful witness to her family as well. As I said, in Asia, BAPTISM is a public announcement and also a very solemn but happy occasion.

Please pray for this young couple as they plan to wed. Pray also for other extended members on both sides of this family who have not yet come to Christ. As you view the photos below you will notice the love, excitement and display of celebration following this baptism. CHURCH should reflect BODY LIFE, a kind of love that can only be known through a relationship with Jesus Christ and HIS family.

Join us in celebrating this new life in Christ. It’s a BIG DEAL. But also ask the Father to continue to bring other members in this family to know HIM. Stay tuned for more.
