What did Jesus say about children?

Without a doubt, we all know that discipleship is important! So when does it begin? Well, personally I think for Christian families it begins as soon as a baby is born. A child grows up in an environment to learn about Jesus. With great care, the love of Jesus is talked about, shown to and shared with this child. This provides an opportunity for questions and a journey that can lead to know Jesus.

Some of our Hokkien friends in East Asia definitely share this thinking. Their youngest daughter who is in elementary school has already participated in two training camps to learn how to share her faith with children. This summer she is attending her third camp and will spend some of her time training other children to share about Jesus as well. She loves it — I mean she really loves it and even saves her own money to help offset costs to attend the camp. What a great opportunity for children.

Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.”
