THE HURT IS REAL

For Robert and me, our lives of working with people have been filled with all kinds of experiences. Some are wonderful and filled with so much happiness and joy. BUT some are very sad and really hurt. At times, attempts to reach out and help seem to be pushed aside and nothing we do makes a difference.  Once again it is very clear that WE cannot fix people. Changing and transforming people is only done through God’s power.

Over the last year in our Hokkien ministry we have had happy times and heartbreaks. However, it is the heartbreaks that tug at us and hurt so much. The first was a precious young couple who divorced and went their own way. There was so much destruction and hurt. The second is also a very young couple with small children who have recently divorced. The future of the children is in question.

Please pray. I don’t even know how to tell you to pray, but we ask you to join us as we ask for God’s mercy and grace in the lives of these young adults. THE HURT IS REAL. Once again, thanks so much for joining us on this journey.

IT’S COMING!

What’s coming? There are two things for which we ask you to join us in prayer. First of all, on August 18 the Hokkien Siong-Chhi* Fellowship in Singapore will meet. This is during the time of Ghost Festival, a very fearful month for many Chinese people. Click HERE to learn more about this Chinese festival. Pray for people to attend this time as Pastor James Lim shares: Are You Afraid of Ghosts?.” Pray for hearts to be softened and lives transformed as they come to know the freedom and saving power of Jesus Christ. Pray for Hokkien believers to also  learn how they too can better share the good news of Jesus Christ during this big festival.

AND don’t forget . . . pray too for a city wide evangelism rally that will be held on November 6 in Singapore. Please pray for these churches and ministries that join together hands and hearts to reach out to the Singapore Hokkien communities. God is at work and we are excited. Get the word out and tell your family and friends. As the time draws near, we will share more details. Keep watching.

IT’S A GIRL!

We just can’t help it . . . another point of personal privilege. Our daughter, Lori, and her husband, Josh, announce the birth of Elizabeth Jane LeMaster.

We are excited for them and are very grateful for Elizabeth’s safe delivery. Mom and baby are doing well. We give a huge PRAISE for this special gift from God.

We will be with them soon and am sure there will be plenty of photos. However, we do have a few below of course.
